Gift card help

An ApplyDojo gift card is a set of credits for someone else: a graduation, a birthday, a first job, or a change of career. You buy it here. You do not need an account. We email it after the payment is confirmed. They redeem it on the account for that email, or they create the account and then redeem it.

Terms

  • A card is £10 for 20 credits, £25 for 50 credits, or £50 for 100 credits. That is the same rate as buying the credits yourself.
  • The card is for ApplyDojo credits. It is not cash, and it does not start a Pro subscription.
  • It cannot be reloaded, split, or moved to a different email after it is sent.
  • It can be redeemed once, and only on the account that uses the email it was sent to.
  • The card lasts 12 months from the day it is paid. If it is not redeemed by then, the credits are not added.
  • Once redeemed, the credits stay on the account until they are spent. They do not expire with the month, and they do not raise the free limit of 20 applications.
  • A card that has not been redeemed can be refunded where the law requires it. Credits already on an account are treated like any other credits.

These points sit inside the terms. Buying or redeeming a card agrees to them.

Do not forward the link in the email. That link is the card. Send it only to the person it was bought for.

Buy a gift card

Cards are sold on ApplyDojo. They are not sold in shops.

  1. Open Gift cards. You do not need an account.
  2. Choose £10, £25, or £50.
  3. Enter their name, their email, your name on the card, and a note if you want one.
  4. Pay.

The page you return to after checkout does not send the card. The email goes out when the payment is confirmed. From that page you can send the email again if it does not arrive.

Redeem if you already have an account

Use the email the card was sent to. A card cannot be added to a different address.

  1. Open the link in the email. The code is that link. There is nothing to scratch off or type in.
  2. Sign in with the email the card was sent to.
  3. If that email is not confirmed yet, confirm it, then open the gift again.
  4. Choose “Add the credits to my account”.

If you are signed in as someone else, the page asks you to sign in with the email on the card. The credits are not added until you do.

Redeem if you do not have an account

  1. Open the link in the email.
  2. Create an account with the same email the card was sent to. A different email cannot redeem it.
  3. Confirm that email. After you confirm, you come back to the card.
  4. Choose “Add the credits to my account”.

Redeeming the card is enough to enter ApplyDojo. You do not have to choose Pro, and you do not have to buy a credit pack. You can upload a CV next. The free account still tracks 20 applications. The credits pay for the writing: a tailored CV, a cover letter, an interview set, or a contract review.

Redeem more than one

Each card has its own link. Open each one and redeem it. The credits add together on the account for that email.

A card is used once. It is not a balance that refills, and two cards are not merged into one code.

See the credits

Before you redeem, the email and the card page show how many credits it is. There is no separate balance to look up, because the card is not spent until you redeem it.

After you redeem, the credits are on the account. Billing shows the balance. One credit is one tailored CV, one cover letter, or one interview set. A contract review uses 4. On Pro, those are included, and any credits you already redeemed stay on the account until you spend them.

There is no estimated end date. A gift card is not taken off a little each month. The unredeemed card expires 12 months after it is paid. The credits, once they are on the account, stay until they are spent.

If you cannot redeem it

  • The email is missing. Check the spam folder. The person who bought it can send the email again from their gift page, after the payment is confirmed.
  • The page says the gift is waiting. The payment is not confirmed yet. Wait, then open the link again. That page does not add the credits by itself.
  • You are on the wrong account. Sign in with the email the card was sent to.
  • The card has expired. The 12 months have passed, and the credits were not added.
  • The card was already redeemed. Those credits are already on an account, and the same link cannot add them again.

If the payment was confirmed and the card still will not redeem, write from the email on your account. Say the name on the card and the address it was sent to. Do not send the link to anyone else.
